- Sanitary, Waste, and Vent System Piping
A major challenge for the project was the accelerated project schedule. The floors of the hotel are constructed of post-tensioned concrete slabs with each slab poured on a two-week timeline. Hometown used robotic total station equipment based on a model generated by in-house engineering staff to place all sleeves through the slab for our utilities. The total station equipment allowed us to meet the construction schedule and avoid costly x-raying of the slabs to core drill openings for the plumbing utilities.
With more than 100 rooms, first floor spa, Ruthie’s Steak & Seafood on the sixth floor and close proximity to the area’s premiere casino, the Rhythm City Hotel is a unique fixture of the Metro-Quad City area.
Hometown Plumbing & Heating worked closely with another plumbing and heating contractor to build the Rhythm City facility. Hometown’s focus was the installation of the plumbing systems in the Hotel while the other contractor focused on the plumbing in the Casino and the HVAC systems facility-wide. Hometown was responsible of the installation of the entire plumbing system for the hotel that included:
- Drainage piping for the pool deck
- All plumbing systems to support spa equipment
- All plumbing systems to support the guest rooms
- All plumbing systems to support Ruthie’s Steak & Seafood
